LTO-8 on PowerEdge R805?
I've got a TL2000 with a single LTO-6 HH drive. They are hosted by an R805 server via 6Gbps SAS HBA. I'm looking to add a second LTO-8 HH drive. Will it be compatible given the HBA is only 6 Gbps given that I'm reading the LTO-8 requires a 12 gbps SAS. Are there 12 Gbps SAS HBAs compatible with R805?

Hello thanks for choosing Dell.
Are there 12 Gbps SAS HBAs compatible with R805? This is a no I'm afraid. That's because your sever model was released before those 12Gbps cards.

There is confusion on Dell's web pages concerning compatibility of LTO8 and 6gbs SAS. Some places it says you need 12gbs, and some places it says 6gbs. The correct answer is as taplibraryfixer stated, "LTO8 is still 6gbs SAS".
