MD1000 SNMP
Does the MD1000 support SNMP, and can it send a trap when one of the drives fails? If using OpenManage, can it send an alert or email when a drive fails? Thanks

The MD1000 itself is just a dummy enclosure and cannot send any alerts. However, if you connect it to an MD3000 or MD3000i, you can configure email alerts in the Modular Disk Storage Manager. Or if you attach it to a PERC5E/PERC6E, I think you need to install the IT Assistant for alert configuration (I've worked with the OpenManage Server Administrator and know you can configure the raid and look at/for failures, but I don't remember seeing an option in there to configure alerts (email or SNMP).

Open Manage Server Administrator on a system with a PERC card connected to an MD1000 can be configured for SNMP alerts.
