MD3000 drops IP connection when inserting new SAS drive into array

Array is non-optimal (shut down one side of power supply due to battery needing replaced) and has a drive failing.  This is primarily an issue with bays 10 & 12.  Before I shut down raid 1 power supply it would only let me remove an re-insert the drive in bay 10.  After shutting down the power supply I can move drive from bay 10 to bay 12 and it rebuilds the array but either way it will not let me insert a new drive into either bay, it drops it's IP address disappears until the drive is removed.

I need to justify to upper management that it is worth spending the $$ on the replacement battery before I can bring the array back to full functionality, not being able to insert a new drive is not helping that matter...

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tim

Hello, twaldo.

I sent you an email for some clarification on your situation. Also, if you could return a support bundle to me, that'd be great! I'll take a look at that for you.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
