MD3000i
Hi
i try to renamme the storage or create some volumes, but i have the error message:
I try to update firmware but i can't
there is also a error message in the logs:
Erreur lors de la vérification de la base de données dadressage des partitions de stockage (SPM) sur le module de contrôleur RAID {0}.
Is there something to do with this?

Hello orphea,
The second error that you listed in your post is in reference to the raid controller 0 in your MD3000i that might be having some issues & not able to stay connected. What I would do is to run a support bundle from MDSM so that we can review it to see what the issue is. I will send you a private message and you can reply back to that message with the logs.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello orphea,
It looks like the primary controller is not reporting the same settings as the secondary controller. What I would do is that based on the log it look like there are no virtual disk on the MD currently. So with that if there isn’t any virtual disk then I would try resetting the unit back to defaults. To do this you will need to have the serial cable that came with the MD and connect to the each controller and run the following:
1. Startup a terminal emulation program like putty, teraterm, minicom or hyperterminal using these terminal settings (115200-8-n-1).
2. Send a from the terminal shell. This is accomplished by within HyperTerminal or Putty, use from within Minicom on Linux systems.
3. When prompted for input within 5 seconds, press for the service interface menu. Also it will only work with a capital S.
4. The user will then be prompted for a password. The Password is: supportDell
5. The menu options available are.
1) Display IP Configuration
2) Change IP Configuration
3) Reset Storage Array (SYMbol) Password
Q) Quit Menu
Once you have done it to both controllers then try to use MDSM & try to create the virtual disk again.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello orphea,
Yes you can purchase one from dell or one of our resellers. Here is the dell part# DP/N 0MN657 & you can do a search on the internet for it as well to find other resellers as well.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi!
Unfortunately, reset doesn't work
it seems to reset only the password.
Is there another way to reset configuration?
Regards

Hello Orphea,
The only other way to reset the MD3000i back to factory is to do a syswipe on it. To do a syswipe you need to have the serial cable & will need to contact tech support and they can walk you through it. When you call into support make sure that you let them know that you need assistance with a syswipe and they should be able to assist you with the process.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
