MD3220SAS, Win2012 HV Cluster, Backups and Redirected IO

Good Day All, 

Running a MD3220 SAS in a Hyper-v Cluster with Windows 2012. I have this configured at two environments currently. At both environments I am running into a problem with backups, when running a backup using applications such as Veeam or Trilead it looks as though Redirected IO kicks in for hosts that don't own the CSV, reducing the backup speed greatly. Is there something extra I need to enable/configure for a MD3220 SAS in order to stop this from happening?
