PE 700, STT3401A Tape drive issues

My client has a PE700 with a Seagate STT3401A Tape Drive, running Windows SBS 2003.  When i try to run backup utility with Windows, it won't allow me to save to the tape.  The software that comes with this drive, won't work since i use Sata drives..  It will run the backup, but not copy to tape.  I save the backup to a file for now, but i have to get this working.  The driver says it's compatible with server 2k3, and i can read the size now.. etc.  I have the newest drivers from http://www.Quantum.com/tandc.aspx?dlfile=Certance/drivers/sttr40_1.3_887146.exe.zip.  I tried using the IDE QIC-157 tape driver and that didn'twork either.   Why is this not working.. Should be.. I ran the diag tools from http://www.certance.com/support/utilities/taperx_windows, and it's working fine.  How do i get this working.. please help

I was having similar issue on a PE400sc server running SBS 2K3. When I viewed device manager, it was showing a yellow exclamation mark beside "SM Bus Controller". After looking this issue up, turned out to be related to the Chipset drivers. Go figure! I downloaded them from Dell site and ran the setup, rebooted and tested the tape drive. All worked great.
Hope this helps!
