PowerVault 120T DLT1

Hi,

Is it possible to use my PV 120T as a tape library? So I can auto span my tapes for bigger backups? currently I'm using BrighStor 9.1, but I can't seem to get it working.

thanks,

Jeroen

Hi,

The model of our tape unit is the DLT1. (so the PowerVault 120T DLT1).

Regards,

Jeroen

Can you verify the model of your tape unit.  (120T DLT1??).  Or do you mean 122T?

Ok, just wanted to confirm this since it wasn't on the DELL website.

If BrighStor does not see the robot, here are suggestions to try:

1.  Check to be sure than the OS device manager sees the robot.  It should be listed under the "Medium Changers" section

2.  Have you run the BrightStor device configuration program which assigns drives to robots?

3.  Verify that during server bootup,  POST  sees the robot.

4.  I believe the autoloader may need to be set to RANDOM mode versus Sequential mode.  This is done via the LCD panel on the autoloader.  Check your settings.

You may also need to check the tape software's website for compatibility.

I've had problems finding support on our PV120T, and reading your message that it's not on the Dell web site concerns me.  Here is our service tag:  J3TZH01.  How would we refference this item if not calling it a DLT1 PV120T?  I must be searching for all the wrong stuff, right?  What would I search for?
