You're going to have to provide a bit more information.

- what storage solution? (MD1000, MD3xxx, Equallogic, Dell|EMC, PowerEdge internal drives?)

- what OS?

Sorry about it...

The storage is MD1000 and MD1200 - and the OS is 2008 R2.

Now I can see that the "r6" command is valid in the command promt options so I guess it's supported...

(I used "Command Line Interface User's Guide Version 2.3" pdf file... no "r6" is available there  :emotion-10:)

What is the latest version of the CLI user's guide ? Can you post here the download link ?

Thank's in advance..

Why don't you just install the OpenManage Server Administrator and create the raid 6 in there? Or are you trying to automate certain configurations (so you can apply it to multiple servers)?

Thanks for your replay,

This is my goal , to try do some settings by automatation procedure (script files).

Right now I'm tring to find a soulotion how to run those scirpts files w/o windows OS installed on the server.

there is no tool (by Dell)  for that scenario ?

Also , What is the latest version of the CLI user's guide available ? Can you post here the download link ?

Did you check under the manuals for your server on Dell's support site to see if there's a CLI guide?

Here are some links to various docs

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/software/svradmin/6.3/en/index.htm

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/storage/Storlink/

The CLI Guide for Server Administrator is currently at version 6.3 and is available at the link above.

Do note, these links are not guaranteed to function all the time.

I did a google search for H700 CLI and came across the first link. I went through support.dell.com/manuals and clicked on storage (at the bottom right of the manuals page)-->Storage Controllers --> Dell Storage Controllers to get to the second link.

There isn't one for DOS, but you may be able to create a WinPE (or a small linux distro) setup that contains the PERC driver and then run the script from that boot environment.

This link may be useful:

http://linux.dell.com/storage.shtml

They talk of a DOS based megaCLI....not officially supported by Dell but it might work for you...
