Precision 5820 3.5 inch SATA Hard Drive housing

Have 2x3.5 inch SATA drives factory fitted. Intended to transfer a third drive from another system. Cannot see how to do this. The two drives have Origin Storage housings. I cannot see how to buy these on the Dell site. Is the only option to use the the 5.25 bay. On https://www.dell.com/support/article/uk/en/ukbsdt1/sln312251/upgrading-storage-in-the-dell-precision-5820-7820-7920-tower-workstations?lang=en it says "400-AXBL - Allows user to install one 3.5" HDD into the 5.25" bay when using an add-in storage adapter. This module is the same as 400-AXBM". So I guess I would have to buy the 400-AXBM. But I cannot find this on the Dell store. I do see a "Dell Hard Drive Housing for Optical Bay" in the store which is listed as "Manufacturer part GXX70 Dell part 400-ACLF" and it says compatible with Precision M6800. Does anybody know how to add a third 3.5 inch hard drive to a Precision 5820?

Hi @harrysmith1 ,

As per 5820 Tech Spec, you can install up to 4 3.5" SATA HDD in the Front accessible FlexBays, plus the 5th one on the 5.25" bay as what you mentioned.

Therefore, you still have 2 spare drive bays on the FlexBays for extra 3.5" hard drive. Check out Upgrading Storage in the Dell Precision 5820 | 7820 | 7920 Tower Workstations for the correct hard drive carrier and caddy with part number.

I have the correct caddy and have opened up the workstation. At the back of the empty drive bay is a yellow sticker with "Do not plug in" written on it. What is it? Should I ignore this and just pull it out?

This is a non-nonsensical reply.  Also, I bought a 5820 with the OS installed on a 3.5" SATA HDD. It's in one of the FlexBay slots. I added three brand new 4TB WD Red HDDs to the other three FlexBay slots and it only reads two of them. Tech support was useless and they transferred me to customer support...goodness knows why...and they were even more useless.

While the front-panel FlexBay are accessible...they aren't all active, out of the box, for 3.5" SATA HDDs?
