Precision T3500 freezes when using D3100 dock
I have a dell d3100 docking station I use with my inspiron laptop and an old Inspirion 530 desktop. I added a USB 3.0 port to the PCIe 4 slot in the 530. They work fine.
now I changed out my 530 and added a USB 3.0 card in my T3500 percision and plugged it into the dock and after a minute the T3500 freezes... hard, have to power off.
All machines are running Windows 10 Pro, and are current on the updates. I downloaded the windows 10 driver for the D3100 and it is installed on all three machines.
When I remove the dock and restart the t3500 it works fine.
So here is my question, which logs do I look at to see if there are any IRQ conflicts, system conflicts...?
The Task log only shows an error that the CLI does not have permissions - which when I searched is a pretty common RunTimeBroker error.
"The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission
for the COM Server application with CLSID

and APPID

to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC)
running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable).
This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool."
I tried the registry fix, but only made my T3500 unbootable, had to do a system restore...
Guess I am buying some HDMI a/b switches.... or I could always RDP into the other computers..
