R7910 BIOS Update Issue

Hello all,

Here is the exact system:

a co-worker and I are trying to update the BIOS on this workstation using a USB drive. The system is currently running 2.4 and we are trying to upgrade it to 2.15 -- when we use the LifeCycle tool, and get to the USB, it tells us we are using a bad path to the file when it is the only file on the thumb drive. When we try to go through the Boot Manager > System Utilities and try to specify the exact file that way, the .exe file is simply not detected at all.

We are left scratching our heads on this one. Any thoughts?

First of all, flashing bios in one leap from 2.4 to 2.15 is not great idea.  Try small incremental flash 2.4 to 2.5 and so on.  Big leap can cause failed flash.

second, use dell method to prepare a bootable usb, then copy all the bios.exe you need on it.

Third flash bios only when it is absolutely necessary because it is intrinsically risky. Do it at your own risk.
