T3610 CPU Upgrade List
so i have seen the other CPU lists upgradeable to this, but all of them do poorly with multithreading, i need a CPU that i can use to game, could you guys help me? can an intel i7 3930k fit this and work? i was looking at the intel xeon e5 2687W 8 core 16 thread 3.1 ghz to 3.8, and its single threading is worse then the intel i5 4570 that i have,
its already got 32gb ram, quadro k4000, xeon e5 1607v3 and the cpu has 100% usage all the time with over 2 apps open, i need your guys help :/

Precision T3610 Spec Sheet
The Xeon E5 1607v3 you mentioned as installed has a socket type of FCLGA2011-3, and the other 2 you mentioned FCLGA2011.
The I-series weren't made for Dell Precision's. Precision's only take from certain areas of the Xeon family per exact model. The I-series doesn't support ECC memory.
I'm sure it's nothing you wanted to hear, but it's the best answer I can give you. That doesn't mean others can't chime in.:Smile:
Also, I'm sure you know this is an Optiplex column. Workstations > Precision Fixed Workstations is the place for Precision's for future reference.

i have dell t3610 updated bios and slapped xeon e5-2680 v2 in 1 and did another 3610 with e5-2697 both cool good well i can only speak for dells with V2 series chip in a 3610

here is a question along the same lines as the OP, is the 3610 compatible with the older CPUs? like the Xeon E5-2687W LGA 2011 non v2 version?
