precision 3420 sff m.2
Sorry for this dumb question, but will a "normal" M.2 SSD drive (e.g. Samsung 970 EVO M.2 2280) fit into the M.2 port on the motherboard of a Dell Precision 3240 SFF, or is some sort of right angle adapter required?

Thank you for your question. Here's the installation guide
You will need the following:
1. Part number: 6JPHH M2X3.5 screw
2. Part number R7HGK thermal pad ( sticks on top of drive when viewing from installed view point )
That's all the parts you need.
