1720 DN Firmware failure now all lights are on
I tried to update the Firmware in my 1720dn printer and was interrupted by a Firefox update. Now all of the lights are on solid. A full reset does not work and I am unable to get into the web configuration to "re-do" the firmware.
Is there any way to reinstall the firmware or to reset the machine?

Oh boy.... not good. You may need a new system board..... it's corrupted.
When you say "Full Reset", do you mean this procedure?
1. Power OFF the printer and UN-plug any data cable(s).
2. Open the front cover.
3. Depress and hold both the Continue and Cancel buttons.
4. With the cover open and both buttons depressed, power ON the unit.
5. Continue to hold the buttons down until the Error light is the only one active. (you will see the lights cycle several times before this occurs)
6. Close the cover...... Done
If this was tried and you still can't get into the machine, try using an IEEE-1284 parallel cable and the FW update utility.

I did do the full reset as you described and the lights remain lit. As soon as I can get my hands on a IEEE-1284 parallel cable I will try that. If that that doesn't work I'm afraid the printer is trash.
Thank you very much for your help.

I emailed a buddy of mine at the printer vendor..... he confirmed pretty much what I suspected. The printer's system board is hosed.
