2150CDN Laser and a P624N wireless adapter

I recently purchase a P624N Wireless adapter for my 2150CDN Laser.  I tried to setup the adapter as per instructions but I'm getting some wierd error about the OS when I try. 

I have windows 8 64bit.

the printer settings page shows the Network wireless settings area with a version and MAC address but says "Getting IP Address"

I tried updating my firmware on my printer to a more recent version but it's saying 016-340, on the printer when I do and doesn't actually update it.

Any help here?
