3100cn Printer Error

I just replaced the black toner in my 3100CN printer that I purchased from Dell a while back.

I installed it per the instructions. IT has a printer error saying it does not recognize it.

What else can I do to make it work?  Toner was sealed in the box that I purchased from

dell at least 12 months ago. I only need to replace the black but have the other 3 toners

purchased at the same time in their original boxes- not been opened yet.

Any suggestions.

Turn off the printer. Remove the Toner Cartridge, check and make sure that you pulled out the entire seal from the toner cartridge (clear streamer on the tag that you pulled out), reinstall the toner making sure it seats all the way, then power the printer back up.

Do you still have the error?

I hope you will not get so frustrated with your printer. I am sure there are experts out there to help you.

I am sharing some tips that might help:

  • Download and install printer drivers for your operating system.
  • Check if it works.
  • Run troubleshooter.
