AIO 922 w/vista won't scan, not in start menu
Just installed dell all-in-one 922. Running on XPS m1530 with Vista Home premium. Will print but won't scan and the All-in-one center does not show in the start menu.
Have tried the unistall patch and reinstalled with Vista drivers. Still unable to scan. Any ideas?

Disconnect the printer.
Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer.
Download the proper Vista drivers. Install the drivers, you'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)

Thanks. I have followed these steps and still no luck..any other ideas?

Run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs in the queue.
Run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer.
Insert your operating system disk and stop it from running. Start, all programs, accessories, right click on command prompt, left click run as administrator. Type
sfc /scannow (space between the c and /)
This will replace any Operating system files that may have becaome missing or corrupt.
Report back the results.
