AIO 924 printer

I recently purchased a new computer with the Vista Software and always wondered why my printer wouldn't scan anymore. After looking on the dell website I uninstalled the printer and downloaded the patches/drivers to update. No I can either get the printer to scan and not print anything or print and not scan. Please help this is getting very frustrating!!! Thanks Kari
