AIO 942 Printer leaving blurred lines and light streaks

I just got the Dell AIO 942 printer from a friend because he just got a new printer. after I installed the software i Immediatly alligned the cartriges and cleaned the cartridges. I did a test page by printing Yahoo.com and noticed that there are some faded lines. on the text, it appears that some of the lines are partialy duplicated. the same letters appear below the original ones about a centimeter down. I have yet to buy new ink cartriges but I fear that this is a printer problem and not a cartridge problem. I have even tried puting the quality on Photo quality but still, this did not work.

Anyone have ideas on how to fix this?
