C1765NFW Error Code 009-654
Hi
I have a Dell C1765nfw printer, was working fine, suddenly stopped working after giving a few "faint" pages..giving me an error 009-654, code 2880000. Cleaned the sensors and updated the firmware through USB, still nothing changed.
Any help will be very much appreciated, I am supposed to be presenting some really important work and I need it to work, so the printer is not actually helping at this point.
Much appreciate it if anyone w=could come with a solution, as obviously Dell doesn't t have a solution to this!

Hi Nazek.
If you can PM over your service tag I can have a look into this for you.
Thanks,
Mick.

Hi,
I'm getting the same error, but with code 210000. Switching to an old yellow cartridge gave me a message that the toner needed to be replaced, and I was able to print with black and white only. I tried the 'new' cartridge again and got the 009-654 error.
I'm guessing the 'new' cartridge is defective.
How was problem resolved? My printer is out of warranty.

Hi lindaknapp,
If you PM (envelope on the top right) over your service tag and the serial number of the new toner you have I can have a look into this for you.
It might be worth cleaning your CTD sensor with the new toner installed after you have given it a couple of light shakes, instructions on cleaning the CTD sensor here: https://dell.to/2HAFgO5
Thanks,
Mick.

Hello,
I could not find a serial number on the cartridge - and Dell told me that since my printer was out of warranty, the error code meant I just needed to replace the printer.
However - tada!! - I kept trying different cartridges. When I got the empty cartridge message, I changed the settings - menu>system>admin>maintenance>Non-Dell Toner>On.
It is now printing again, and in color as well as B/W!!
I am so glad I kept working on this!
