Dell 3100cn doesn't print near margin

I've had a 3100cn for 2 years and it started to not print near the right margin, about 3/4" from the right edge of the page. It's getting worse. Now it's about an inch of not printing on the right margin. It does this for black and all the colors. I have replaced the drum twice but this does not fix the problem. I have replaced the black cartridge and reseated all of the other cartridges. But the problem still exists. Is there something that I need to do to the printer so that I can print closer to the edge of the paper? Is something damaged in the printer that needs to be replaced?

PS if this fixes the problem, look at the sponge. If it's covered in 1 colour check that you don't have a leaking cart.

Open the front door.

Pull the blue plastic lever on the right towards you.

This opens a little window on the right hand side of the printer towards the rear.

Look inside, pull out the blue plastic rod. It has a sponge on the bottom.

Push it in. Pull it out. Ten times.

This will clean any spillage from the laser lense.

If it is on all 4 print colours this is the most likley cause
