Dell 5130cdn - Belt Unit replace message
Hi,
I recieved the message:
| 094-911:Replace the Belt Unit Now. Contact customer support. |
On my printer the other day. so I proceeded to order a new belt unit and transfer roller.
I have replaced these exactly as described in the manual, I close the covers on the printer and nothing happens.
The mesage still reads:
| 094-911:Replace the Belt Unit Now. Contact customer support. |
what can I do? is there a counter I can reset?
The warranty expired on the 7th April 2013.
Any help/guidance appreciated

Hi,
I've had no reply to this question - I was hoping someoone would have an answer or at least something I could try....
Is there any way I can completely reset the printer, wipe it's memory so it doesn't think the belt unit still needs replacing? I don't know.
If this was still under warranty, what would Dell suggest I do?
Please help.
Thanks,
Lee.

Hi Lee
Did you get anywhere with this problem? We now have the same problem with our Dell 5130cdn. If you solved it, could you please share how you did this with us.
Many thanks.
Maureen

Hi,
No - this was never resolved. After speaking to Dell technical support, they told me I had to replace the fuser unit (!?). I therefore ordered this costly part based on their say so, replaced it, and just as I expected, the problem remained.
We have since replaced the 5130 with a HP M551 Colour Laser, which is superb! I'm sure we will not be buying Dell printers ever again in the future, firstly because of how terribly they break down, and secondly because of the shockingly bad support we received.
My advice, Maureen, is to not waste any further time or money on the printer and get yourself a HP instead.
Lee.

Hi Lee,
I have taken the PWBA controller board out of a working machine with the small circuit
next to it. I think its and EEprom chip PWba eeprom (hlf) with memory instructions on it..When I remove the "paired" boards out of a known working machine and put them in the printer with the 094-911 error the problem goes away and the printer works fine.
I think the problem occurs when the WTB/transfer belt counter is reset. even though the counter may have only shown half used it disabled the paired controller unit thus having to replace the wtb unit and possibly the MCU controller board.
When I transferred the PWBA I had to tranfer the smaller chip as well or it came up with a fw mismatch error.
t won't help you now but don't run the WTB reset ever!
I found a place where you can buy the PWBA controller board for £50 plus postage which is as expensive as the part . the eeprom chip is available too but I don't know the procedure for setting up the ne parts. If they need flashing. If you email me I will give you more detailed diagnosis.
cheers
