Dell 715W AIO Printer not printing in black
Purchased this printer as a gift for husband for Christmas from a friend who purchased it new in 2011. Put in new ink cartridges for Christmas. Printer won't print in black. Deep clean prints yellow bar, pink bar, blue bar and then very faint grey line, but mostly white. What I've done so far:
- Removed and reinstalled the print cartridge
- Cleaned printheads
- Deep cleaned printheads
- Downloaded and installed the latest driver (A05)
- Downloaded and installed the latest firmware (C020212, A06)
- Removed and reinstalled the print cartridge again
- Deep cleaned printheads again
- Torn all my hair out
- Spent 3 hours on the web trying to find another solution
- Spent 4 hours trying to find a way to contact Dell

Are you using Dell Series ink cartridges?
I use the Dell Series 24 ink cartridges(High Capacity) on my Dell V715w wireless printer.

The Printer Does Not Recognize the Ink Cartridge or Only Prints in One Color
My guess would be that if this printer sat for a while, the printhead may need replaced. Replacement Printhead I have replaced mine once, when I first got it and have not had any problems with the printer since, other than the childres won't tell me when the printer is low on ink :emotion-5:

Lexmark made this printer for Dell. The Lexmark printhead will work. I use the Dell 24 Series Ink cartridges and they last almost a year, with school.

Thank you Rick for replying and trying to help me.
.Yes, I am using dell print cartridges. I have already cleaned the print heads and deep cleaned the printheads. I have downloaded everything that needs downloading, so it sounds like the next step is to replace the print head.
Your link took me to a lexmark site; printhead was $29.
Dell's prince is $130. Will the lexmark printhead work?
