Dell 942 Printer
Hi Rockstar Rick,
I have read many of your threads and they have been helpful. Thanks for all that you do in the Dell community! I am hoping you can help me our with my Dell AIO 942 printer. I am getting that runtime error message when I try to re-install the driver. So I found your thread about running the patch and reinstalling the driver. However the patch appears to be for Vista. I have XP. Will running this patch further screw up things or should I go ahead and run it then install the drivers for XP? This printer has given me fits over the past several years!
Thanks!

jennieship,
Make and model of the computer and opertaing system is helpful. XP is 32-bit?
The patch is a printer cleanup utility and can be run on XP systems.
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer.
Then follow the instructions in the Dell 942 Photo All-In-One Printer owners thread (W7)
Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.
