Dell AIO 946 is spitting out blank pages

I shall try to explain the strange sequence of events with my AIO 946.

I have a Demension C531 with all Dell peripherals which is approx 18 months old.

Initially every thing worked fine.

About 3 months ago I started having problems with the printer.

At first it would spit out blank pages when I tried to print from the screen.

When I tried to print 1 page it would spit out 2.  However, the copy and scan

functions worked fine.

Then it started printing blank copies.

The ink levels showed 1/3 full black and 2/3 full color.

I went through the recommended troubleshooting protocols found in:

   Printer suppot page, and

   Support Wizard.

I contacted Tech Support and received an email advising me to do

the same things I had already done.

So I am trying this forum in the hope that someone will have a fresh idea.

I am willing to replace the cartriges if that will solve the problem,

but I don't want to spend that kind of money if the problem is with the printer.

I do have an extended warranty for hardware.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kathryn,

Try installing the printer following the instructions below and tell me what happens. Re-installing the printer with these instructions usually gets things working properly.

Disconnect your printer. Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer.

Restart your computer.

Download the proper drivers.

XP Drivers

Vista 32-bit Drivers

All other drivers

Install the proper drivers. You'll be prompted when to connect your printer(powered on)

Scanning

Scanning using USB connection, open the Dell All-In-One Center, click on scanning and copying and scan from there.

Scanning wirelessly, use the scan buttons on the printer.

Rick,

   Thanks for the advice.

It's a little daunting for a novice like me,

but I'll try it and let you know.
