Dell AIO 948 Printer

Hi I was just wondering if there was a way to get the Dell AIO 948 Printer to work with Windows 8. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi nrothaar,

The below link tells us that the printer is compatible with Windows 8.

However, the windows 8 drivers are presently not available with Dell. Therefore, I request you to try using the Windows 7 drivers by clicking on the link below and check if it works:

If it doesn’t work, you will have to try installing the windows 8 drivers only after its release.

Thank you for the quick reply. I have tried the Windows 7 drivers and no luck. Good to know that windows 8 drivers will be released. Thanks again

nrothaar,

No guarantee this will work, but it worked for Widows 7...

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed.
Manual Printer Driver Removal

Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 8 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 8 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).

Links to the patch/drivers can be found at...

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.
