Dell P713W all in one editing capabilities.
I had an older Dell all in one which allowed me to clean up documents which I scanned by erasing smudges and crop the
scanned document. I am unable to find these settings with the Dell P 713.

That most likely was the software that came with the printer-scanner. Did you install the OCR software that came with the new printer-scanner? This is from Dell's site for that model:
