Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 926...can't scan,HELP!

When I try to scan something I get a message saying that the printer is busy and to try again when it's not busy. I don't understand how it can be busy when it's noe doing anything. It prints just fine. I printed a few pages a couple days ago, that printing job is finished. So, what is it busy doing? Can somebody help me?

This has been a cure.

How are you connected to the printer? wired of wireless?

If wired, disconnect your printer. Go to start/programs/Dell printers and un-install your printer.

Restart your computer.

Now go to drivers and downloads/select product/printers/select your printer.

Install your printer. You'll be prompted when to connect it.

If wireless, fix your network first.

Update the firmware in your wireless router. Manufacturer's website, make & Model needed.

Broadcast SSID(You may want to change this to make it easier to connect)

Use WPA security

After router is done, now setup your wireless print server/printer.

If wireless printer server is used, Plug USB cable into computer and print server. Insert the print server disk. Choose Network, then choose print server and follow the instructions.

Now setup the printer.

Now go to drivers and downloads/select product/printers/select your printer.

Install your printer. Choose Network. Install the drivers.

Everything should now work.

Okay, I went to the drivers and downloads page did what you said but(pardon my denseness) didn't see how I was supposed to install my printer. Download but not install. Am I supposed to do that? Download? Sorry, I'm very new to this and it's quite confusing.

Like I said the first time, unplug your printer

Go to Start

programs

Dell Printers

Un-install Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 926

Restart your computer

Download and install the Drivers from Drivers and Downloads

It will prompt you when to connect your printer

Everything should now work.
