Firmware Update Error

I have a Dell V715w wireless AIO printer. I normally use it wirelessly but, to do this firmware update, I am connected by USB. I downloaded the file R29577.exe and ran it. The update starts and there is communication to the printer. The progress bar continues to about the halfway point when another window pops up saying Error Updating Printer and directs me to do this:

- Make sure the printer is connected to your computer.
- Turn the printer off.
- Wait 5 seconds.
- Turn it on again.

I follow these directions and try again with the same results. The second time the error occured, I unplugged the printer in addition to turning it off.

Help?

Hi curtswanson,

It appears that the printer is unable to communicate properly. Try updating the firmware wirelessly from this link: http://dell.to/Ra05uN

If it does not help, you can try to uninstall and re-install the printer. To uninstall it, click Start button >> click 'All Programs' >> Locate 'Dell Printers' >> Select your printer and uninstall it.

Reboot PC and disconnect the USB cable from the printer as well as the computer. Re-install the printer driver from this link: http://dell.to/RLyYZf.
Note: If you want to install the printer wirelessly, do not connect the USB cable until the printer is installed. If you want to connect the printer via USB cable, connect the USB cable only when prompted and try to update the firmware when the printer is installed.

You can also refer to this Owner's Manual: http://dell.to/RqE8YF

Hope this helps.
Do write back with the results.
