Install a v715W without disks

I am trying to  install a wireless printer to the wireless network.  It works with a USB cable (that was a long process).  Can I get the wireless to work without the installation disks?

I am running a dell inspiron laptop with windows 7

jeff46,

You can get it to install, but need information about your network.

You'll need the printer disk to install the OCR Program, to be able to scan and fax.

RE: Install a v715W without disks

Just found this.  My install disk doesn't have OCR software.  What was the program that should have come with it?  I was always going to set up Paperport, which I used to love years ago. But if something is recommended, I'll get that.   Would love to download it...

Thanks.

RE: Install a v715W without disks

CFMuehling,

The OCR Program is on the Dell V715w Printer disk.

As for scanning, if you have the disk that came with the printer, then insert the Printer disk and stop it from running. Go to My Computer and double click on it. Look for the drive with the Dell disk in it. Right click on it, left click explore. Look for the OCR Folder. In the OCR Folder, there is an Abbyy Folder. right click on setup.exe, that's in the Abbyy Folder and left click run as administrator. This will install the OCR program.
