Anniebelle,

If you are connecting the printer via a USB port, you cannot configure it in printer properties to use the LPT1 port.   Change the port to the USB port in printer properties in Control Panel.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for responding. I changed the port to a USB port in the Printers Property settings and plotted an AutoCad drawing . I got a message from Windows (XP) that said plot was completed with no errors. I saw the HP plotter scrolling as it was being sent. I received a message that said data was being sent to plotter but plotter did not receive anything and nothing was in the plot queue, both in Windows printer settings and queue on plotter.

I'm close but still not working. The plotter printed out a color pallete and menu sheet so that seems to be working properly.  It is just the connection between computer and plotter. Any other ideas.

I'm not on a network. So under  Printer properties I have " no sharing this printer" checked. Under the Port tab , have it set to USB002 (USB001 is being used by an HP Office jet printer/fax with phone line connection. This printer works fine.) Under the Advanced tab I have it set to "spool documents" and "start printing immediatedly".

The Driver I have it set to is: HP Designjet Printer Driver V4.65.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
