Laser 1700n cannot get printer status

I have a Dell 1700n connected to network.  I can open the printer web page and set some of the information like the email alerts, and get to the  printer setting page so the problem is not my network.  When I try to acess the printer status or the PRINTING STATISTICS pages the web browser just sits there and eventually says it cannot accoess this page.  It used to work - what has happened?  I need to know the status of the cartridge.

I cycled the printer on and off and also disconnected from routed and reconnected - no sucess.
