Some characters print wrongly C2660dn

I have just installed a brand new C2660dn printer on a W10 Pro x64 PC. The first page I printed was from a pdf file, which displayed correctly on screen. When printed, certain characters (g, S, 2) print in the wrong font, or not at all, and other page layout issues occur.

I have pasted the text into Word and the font is apparently "Oxygen Regular" and "Oxygen Bold". The same thing happens whether I print to PCL6 or PS.

If it is a strange font, how come Adobe and Word can manage to display it properly, but the printer gets all screwed up?

Any suggestions welcome.
