V525W Printer Will Not Connect Wirelessly

I just moved and had to change my ISP.  Now, my V525W printer which had been working fine, will not connect wirelessly.

When I attempt to reinstall the printer, the program stops after I connect the USB "set up cable."  The CONTINUE button remains dark.

I have been trying every suggstion I can find on the board for over three hours and still can't get this piece of junk to work.

I have a Dell XPS all-in-one machine running Windows 7.

Can someone please help?!?!

Rick,

After a couple "cooling off" days, I decided to takle this issue again and it appears that I finally have it working!

I went into the menu on the printer and restored factory defaults.  I still had the same issue with the Dell Installation program so I went to the Windows 7 control panel and clicked on "Add a Wireless Device to the Network."  It recognized the printer right away and I followed the steps until the WiFi light turned steady green.   I then went through the Dell Install again and was able to print, scan, etc.

Thanks again,

Tom

Unfortunately, I've done all that so many times I've lost count.  I can't get past the step where I plug in the cable.  The CONTINUE button stays gray and the only thing I can do is Cancel.

DFWTom,

With your computer connected to the new network, run Network Interface and post the log back here.

Make and model of your wireless router.

What virus program and firewall are you using?

Tom,

Channel 6 should be ok but you may have better results on channel 11.

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove stuck print job(s) from the queue, then restart your computer.

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

Start, control panel, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

With your computer online, insert the Dell V525w Printer disk. Choose new installation, network and follow the instructions. It should prompt you to connect your printer and also for your network and password.

When you're done with that part, it should prompt you to unplug the usb cable. Wait for about a minute and see if the WiFi light is green(I'm hoping it has a WiFi light)

If that does not work, you may want to drop back the Security to WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security(Personal) and try it.

Tom,

You ran Delete Print Jobs, first? Stuck print jobs in the queue cause problems.

Can you setup the printer as a local printer using the usb cable?

Try the Dell V725w All-in-One Wireless Inkjet Printer Windows 7 64-bit drivers?

Make sure the printer is not in Demo Mode, as described in the one article.
