CD/DVD file Ext

I just recently downloaded some music from Amazon(first time) when first downloaded it had a file ext. I had never seen before.  I went back to it this morning to find the extension is now .mp3 and this for some reason it wont play in my or my wife's car both are 2011 models. what ext. should I be using so I can burn in the house and listen in the car.

My Computer is XPS 8700 mid 2013

stock CD player and LG  BD and a whole host of other things it can do.

What do I do?

Oh the OS is win HP I tried Win OS to burn and download and tried Cyberlink Media Suite. No results

kmann,

What song extensions will your car play? Most play a variety of song extensions. MP3,MP4,AAC and others. I am not sure why it wont play. Will it play on your computer?

Thanks for the response Jesse

Both the wife 2011 Subaru, me 2011 Hyundai. Mine clearly states mp3 her we didn't look in the manual.  But hears the thing. I shut down the PC for the night upon reboot the ext. went to mp3 don't know how.

Mad the burn list and all was good.

Thanks again Jesse
