Dell System detect. what is it doing in my tray?

I have ran Dell diagnostics and looked into the health of my laptop...After I have done that there is the "Dell System Detect" in my tray. At the start-up a small box pops up and says getting info or something like that (but it is from that program) what is it doing while I work on my laptop? Is it helping me in some way? Should I delete it now that I am not running anymore diagnostics?
