Missing GLU32.dll

I ran an anti-malware program on my precision M4500 running Windows 7 last week. The GLU32.dll in the C:\users\Rick\AppData\Local\Dell Directory came up corrupted/infected. So I had the program delete it. Now every time I start my computer I get RegSer32 error that read "the Module "C:\users\Rick\AppData\Local\Dell\GLU32.dll failed to load.  Make sure the binary is stored at the specified location or dependent .DLL files. specified module could not be found"

How can I get this of this error? or where can I find a copy of the GLU32.dll or what dell program is this used with that might be in my startup sequence? Thanks

How do I go about finding out which Dell program needed the GUI32.dll file so I can reinstall it?

Hi Rick,

There can be several different programs associated with the particular dll file. May I know if you have tried the steps in the article?

Kalyan,

1. The file was not in the recycle bin

2. The anti malware program targeted the file because it was corrupt and deleted it.

3. System restore will not restore a deleted program

4. I don't know what program that installed the glu32.dll so I do not know which program to install.

and that is where I stand.

Hi Rick,

Refer the following link for instructions to run hardware diagnostics: http://dell.to/YFPMVa

If the diagnostics pass, we can attempt repairing the Windows installation. May I know if you have a Windows 7 disk?

Kalyan,

I will run the hardware diagnostics.

I have the win 7 disk.

I think it is not a windows thing. It was in the Dell directory in a users directory which was created after windows was installed.

Thanks for your help

Rick

Hi Rick,

DLL files are windows system files and ideally a repair installation can help us with the missing file.

Before attempting the repair installation, we can try a system restore. You have mentioned in your first post that the anti-malware program caused the changes to your computer that led to the issue. Software changes can be reverted using System restore. Refer the following link for System Restore instructions: http://dell.to/11rkCAB

Please choose a date prior to the day the issue occurred. If the issue persists, we can also try running System File Checker. Refer the following link for instructions: http://dell.to/1bMf4ah

Do let me know the results.

GLU32.dll error is an error that occurs when the GLU32.dll file does not installed or support your system. Through this device your application will work, If it is not installed in your system then you need to download GLU32.dll file from the trusted website i have done same for my dll files. You just start your work after installing it.
