Outlook 2002 Is it possible to receive .asp files as email attachments?

Although I am abe to send .asp files using my Outlook 2002, I am unable to receive them. Any suggestions, advice as to how I can "unblock" .asp files so that I can get them using my Dell 3000 desktop with Windows XP Home Edition and all service packs? I use the .asp files in conjunction with Dreamweaver software that functions without any problems.
