SysAdmin Service Tag scanner

Does dell have a tool that allows for the infrared barcode scanning of the service tag on Dell computers. 

I work at a E-waste recycling center and want to find a way to quickly identify the internal components of computers that come in. 

As the systems are scanned, I would want them added to the "my systems" list from my user control panel
