What can we try to work with?

We have a small company, and therefore sometimes we don't use the most complete Excel equivalents. Most of the problems that we encounter are that quite large xls files are not opened correctly and work and are loaded very slowly. Sometimes, together with saving, important documents are then opened with meaningless symbols. Now our company needs a solution for this case, since such a problem arises often, but it takes a lot of time and nerves.

Version of Windows?

Version of Excel?

What are "the most complete Excel equivalents" ? Do you mean you're using some other app to create/open .xls files?

There have been issues reported with Win 10 and large Excel files so you might Google for fixes people have suggested. Eg, do you have the latest compatibly updates for your version of MS Office (Excel)?
(Help>Check for updates)

Have you tried saving the files as .xlsx instead of .xls, if using Excel 2007 or a more recent version?
