Why didn't my Dell come with a word processor program?
New here. Other than wordpad or notepad, I would have thought this computer desktop would have come with Word or Office installed. Well, it is, but I have to buy it to use it. I was doing good just to get the desktop.

Unfortunately, there are no free word processors when purchasing a computer.

In the past Microsoft had some other free suites such as Microsoft Works and Microsoft Office 2010 Starter. Now they offer Free WebApps or a paid Office suite only...

There are several free office type programs available. Open Office and several others bsased on it are good replacements.
