Word line spacing problem
Please see the document segment below. I scanned multi-paged document into Word. I have tried to edit the document and ended up with random line spacings: single-spaced and double-spaced. I am unable to make the double spaces go away. I want the spacing in item 2 look like that in item 3. Note that item 4 has mixed single and double spacing. I can't figure out how to fix it.
You'd think that you would put the cursor between the lines and hit DELETE, but the cursor won't go between the lines.

As Rick stated, a picture image cannot be edited. However, if you used OCR software, you must realize that OCR software inserts many styles into your scanned document. You can view these style names by going to Tools, Options (in Word) and selecting the View tab. Toward the bottom right you'll see a Style Area Width spin box. Place a value of .7 (7/10ths) and click OK. Then choose View, Normal from the Word menu. You'll see style names listed to the left of your document. When finished, choose View Print Layout to return to the previous view of Word.
I'd recommend you select the entire document (CTRL-A), then press CTRL-SHIFT-N to apply Word's normal style. If the document still looks odd, try ALT-Spacebar (this removes character formatting) and CTRL-Q (This removes paragraph formatting).
From this point, you can format your document as you desire.

I did use OCR and have done some editing of this document. But I can't edit out that line spacing. I'll try your suggestions.
Thanks

Thanks to both of you. Making the document Normal did the trick. The bad line spacing is gone.
