how to I upgrade my dell dimension e510 cpu from Intel Pentium D to Intel core 2 v.pro

I need help on changing my cpu on my dell dimension e510 from intel Pentium D to intel core 2 v.pro. but every time I put the intel core 2 v.pro in the screen is pure black what should I do?

The E510 does not support Core 2 processors.   SL7PU is the maximum the e510 supports. BX80547PG3000ET  (Some say Pentium D 945 sSpec SL9QQ works with bios A07)

The Video post below does show Pentium D but it says Incompatible processor Press F1.

He used an SL9KA Pentium D 925  3.0 Ghz

Bios update should be done with Direct Dell Download and antivirus software Uninstalled as it can hang and Brick the machine!

  7. Prescott Celeron 326, 2.53G, 533FSB, 256K, Socket-T
  8. Prescott Celeron 331, 2.66G, 533FSB, 256K, Socket-T
  9. Prescott Celeron 336, 2.80G, 533FSB, 256K, Socket-T
