APC Racks and Power Edge Servers R200 and 1950 III

Hello all:

we are planning to buy a bout five PE R200 Servers and 3 PE 1950III, we'd really appreciate feedback as far as what are the best compatible APC racks for these servers and which are the suggested rail kits for these?

Thanx,

I would suggest asking APC on this.

Dell servers definitely will fit in a Dell rack, and probably in an APC rack, but Dell doesn't check the non-Dell racks; it's up to the rack manufacturer to test this.

Dell offers rapid rails and versa rails. The rapid rails allow for faster removal from the rack (to replace or add hardware) and the versa rails are more compatible with a wider variety of racks.

APC has three different models of Server Racks, the NetShelter SX, WX, and VX.  The Dell Rail Kits are compatible with all of these types of racks.  What you have to be carefull of is ordering a rack that is not deep enough for the equipment.  The APC racks are available in depths from 622mm to 1200mm.  The WX is a small shallow rack that has a 622mm depth.  The SX and VX are available in depths from 1070mm to 1200mm.  The VX is a seismic rated rack if that is required.

The PE1950 requries 930mm of installation depth so I would consider the SX series of racks.
