Can I put a graphics card in a PowerEdge R230?
Hello,
Can I place a NVidia Quadro K620 2GB graphics card in a DELL PowerEdge R230?
I would like to use this machine in a 19" rack where I am very limited in space. The graphics will not be extremely demanding but a lightweight graphics card is preferred.

There are no GPUs validated for the R230. If you have not purchased the system yet then I suggest purchasing a different system that supports your needs. We may have servers that support GPUs, but I cannot think of any. Some of our servers support GPGPUs for processing they are not intended for video output.
We have rackable workstations, I suggest checking to see if any of them support GPUs.

There are no validated GPUs for this server. You may be able to find a solution that works for you, but there are none we can recommend. Unfortunately, there aren't any non-validated video solutions that I've seen work for this platform, either.

1. I unplugged the riser card
2. removed the card (Storage Controller Card (RAID)) and put it on the other slot.
3. Then I installed a cheap (gigabyte GV-N610D3-2GI) GPU and it works perfectly. the GPU of course did not have Windows Server Driver, but I installed windows 10 64 driver and it took without any issue.
