Cannot attached media with Virtual Console
Using IDRAC 7 Virtual Console , I cannot attached media using the "Launch Virtual Media" menu option. The virtual media windows appears for about 1 second and disappears. In the brief flash I can tell that it see the Firmware update disk that I have mounted on my Mac but I cannot use it since the virtual media window isn't functional.
- Workstation OS ( Mac OS Sierra 10.13.1 ) ,
- Java version: Java 7
- Browser: Chrome 66
- iDrac firmware: Version 1.30.30
- PowerEdge Gen 12: R720xd
I read that Java 6 and 7 are supported, so I installed Java 7 plugin for Chrome 66.
The first error I hit was the login error. I was able to get past that by hard-coding the idrac credentials into the .jnlp and relaunching the app.
Error:

After that, the console opens and I can see the remote console of the Dell server.

Error that occurs every time I launch virtual media.
I have vFlash but the upgrade ISO file is 4GB and that only supports 2GB partitions.
Any advice on either fixing the virtual media issue or an easier way to *remotely* upgrade the IDrac would be appreciated.

Thanks. I'm brand new to the Dell PE servers, so it took me a while to understand how updates work for the R720xd and IDRAC. I found <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> that walked me through upgrading the Lifecycle and IDRAC to
2.52.52.52 .Once that was done, I got access to an HTML5 interface, so I don't need the Java client any longer.
I also found Linux ISO for doing updates, I lost the link but it went through and upgraded the firmware on every component, and installed additional components such as the Diagnostics and OS Collector. The link is here
I was surprised that the Win32 .exe update worked since the server is running Linux, but I guess the iDrac has a way of executing Windows binaries independent of the server's OS, because it worked.

Hello
I'm having no issues with Chrome 66, but I'm on FW 2.52. I suggest updating the iDRAC/LCC through the web interface instead of the console.
If you go to iDRAC Settings>Update and Rollback you can use Windows 32-bit Dell Update Packages. Just browse to the file location on the workstation and it will upload the update through the browser to the iDRAC. To locate a Win32 DUP choose Windows Server 2008 x86 in the OS drop down list of the support page. Support for Win64 DUPs was planned for the iDRAC7/8, but I'm not sure if it was implemented.
Thanks
