Dell Console Switch Does not Work with HP Servers
Hardware:
Dell PowerEdge 180AS console switch.
HP Proliant DL380
USB Style Server Interface Pod, for Dell PowerEdge x161DS/ 180AS/ 2160AS
The console switch does not pick the HP servers. I also tried the HP SIP but that did not work as well. Does anyone encounter the same problem or have a solution for this problem?
Thanks,
Jeremy

When you pull up the OSCAR menu does it show a red X on the port its connected to or it doesnt even showup? And just checking to make sure you are using dell branded USB SIP adapters? The HP adapters will not work with the Dell switches.

Another recommendation would be to try a Dell PS2 SIP adapter. The Dell USB SIP should work prefectly fine but I would recommend using the PS2 also to see where the problem resides.
