Dell R720XD motherboard - replace VWT90 (v3) with C4Y3R (v4)
Hello, I have a R720XD with a bad motherboard. Are the motherboard revisions interchangeable?
Specifically, VWT90 (v3) replaced with C4Y3R (v4) ? I'm hoping the newer revision board is backward compatible.

Hello
It should work. I don't see anything mentioned about functionality or feature removal with the V4 board. The system board goes up to V7, and I think most of the revision changes are just changes to the firmware or BIOS that is pre-installed on the board. If we change anything we typically create a new part number for the product.
