Dell poweredge r210 problem with updating software

Hi, I bought a used dell poweredge r210 server a few days ago. I tired to update it using lifecycle controller. I went to Platform update > Launch platform update and chose ftp server. After clicking next and waiting a bit I got this error message: https://imgur.com/a/qwkrUrU I'm a total beginner when it comes to servers :/ Sorry for my English :3

This may not work, due to the specific OS, but it may be worth a try anyway. These are the bin files for the BIOS, iDRAC, and Lifecycle controller. They haven't been validated in the Ubuntu family, so the applications may not run, but worth a try.

BIOS 1.12: https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER05074938M/1/R210_BIOS_3JR2N_LN_1.12.0.BIN

iDRAC 2.90: https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER04448397M/1/ESM_Firmware_9GJYW_LN32_2.90_A00.BIN

BMC 1.70 (If no iDRAC): https://downloads.dell.com/esm/BMC_FRMW_LX_R295870.BIN

Lifecycle Controller 1.7.5: https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER02971948M/1/Lifecycle-Controller_Legacy_Application_0WFGM_LN_1.7.5.4_A00.BIN

Good morning,

Looking at the image you posted to Imgur, it looks like the system is crashing during the attempt to run through the firmware update. With that being the case, I would try first draining the power by unplugging the server, then holding the power button down for around 30 seconds. Once that is done, you can flash the firmware using the .iso linked below. That .iso should have the updates to the iDRAC and Lifecycle controller. That should help fix the error you're getting.

R210 FW .iso: https://dell.app.box.com/v/bootabler210/folder/59774555260

No, the system booted, but it looks like there is a problem with the update script. Is an OS installed on the server at present? If so, what is it? We may be able to update from there, depending on the operating system.

Hi DylanJ, thanks for your response, it helped me a lot, but I had a problem. I could update BIOS, IDRAC, but then the BMC update shows me an error message that says it is not compatible with my system configuration (after that, I updated the life cycle without problems). I tried different versions of BMC but I had no luck, they all show the same error. But I noticed a difference, before the update, my server's System Services showed me an IDRAC version and a BMC version, now they only show me the IDRAC version, the BMC version line disappeared.

I wonder, does the monolithic version 2.90 of idrac now have BMC embedded?

Anyone know what may be happening? Thank you.

ps: sorry for my english, not my native language.
