R630 State for Firmware Upgrade

Hi,

On which state does the R630 needs to be in order to perform a firmware upgrade using iDRAC?

What should be on the monitor connected directly to the server to safely apply the update ?

What extension the update file should be for an update using a local file on the machine connected using a browser to iDRAC ?

Please provide assistance.

Hello,

It the end, I went for making a bootable firmware update iso from Dell Repository Manager app and the update was successful. I did a total firmware update for the server. The Dell Repository Manager way is one of the most convenient ways for me and that's why it was chosen.

It is great that there is more than one way to update the firmware on Dell servers.

Thanks for the assistance.

RonyEco,

To provide the correct answer I would need to get clarification on a couple of things.

Are you wanting to update from the iDrac GUI, or are you wanting to update the iDrac itself?
What specifically are you trying to update?
What OS is installed on the server?

Let me know and we can go from there.
